My interest in apparel design initially began with thrifting clothing and fabric from my local value village. My early designs are heavily influenced by working with limited yardage, forcing me to adapt my designs to utilize what little fabric I had. This along with learning construction techniques from the garments deconstructed for fabric has influenced my patternmaking and design style in a number of ways that led me to develop sharp problem-solving skills. Exploring new ways to pattern and construct comfortable, multi-functional products with attention to unique design and longevity has become a true passion of mine, and a skill I constantly work to improve.
