i like to eat with my eyes. ravenous, for finding the beauty in the overlooked, my work is influenced by magical realism, & a lifelong obsession with discarded things.i see clothing as an incantation, a moment to inhabit another, to tell infinite stories with our bodies.the anchorite, is an exploration of self-imposed solitude in pursuit of duende, the spirit of creation, the place where inspiration and madness converge & we allow ourselves possessed. inspired by these contradictions, i repurposed old blankets, bedding & curtains, materials traditionally associated with comfort, to create intentionally restrictive garments with visible flaws & wear. these garments, like our bodies, are meant to be ephemeral. they will age, stain, tear and eventually, become something new entirely. i see design as an external reflection of the internal, i’ve been locked in this room, & these are my ghosts, it is a gift to be seen.
