School of Apparel Design & Development

As this program ends, I’m left with something equally important as my education; the awareness of duality and how it plays a role in my life as a designer. My best work is born from pleasure. Slow, calculated design concepts followed by motivation and fire that has me working for hours. Patience to savor my time and ideas by not wasting them in a rush. What is born of pleasure will provide it and where there is haste, there is waste.

As a designer who values sustainability & conscious design, my goal is to refrain from waste as much as possible in any form of art I create. My main avenue is through repurposing and thrifted fabrics, though I will continue to educate myself and strive for higher levels of sustainability. I love exploring the concept of adornment via clothing and the way it makes an individual feel. This is what has motivated me to become a designer and what pushes me to sculpt fashion into a more eco-friendly mold.
